Day 14 - Angel wings and other things!

Dear Mom,

I do remember the day that you and Grandma went to pick up Muffy! Animals can be such a lifesaver. So happy that the two of them found each other. And Muffy is just the cutest little rollie pollie ollie ever!

Speaking of kitties, there was a story on the Homeward Animal Shelter (FM humane society) Facebook page today about this man who heard a kitty crying in his apartment building and he was concerned that the kitty was abandoned. He called his landlord but they were uncooperative and refused to do anything. Then he called the cops and they went to investigate but without the landlords permission, they couldn't do anything either. So this man decided to do something on his own because the kitty's cry was so profound. After a little while, he realized that the cat was actually stuck in the wall between his apartment and the neighbors. The man was then able to rescue the kitty through a vent. Apparently the neighbors who owned the cat moved out in September, so no one really knows how the kitty managed to stay alive. In the end, the man who rescued the kitty ended up adopting him through Homeward Animal Shelter. This is a prime example of a story that makes me hate people and love people all at the same time.

And since I'm on the topic of cats, did you hear the story about Concrete Kelly at Cats Cradle? There was a construction worker named Kelly and Kelly found this sweet little kitten in a dumpster near his construction site. She was completely covered in paint and cement so she wasn't able to move but she was alive. He immediately took the kitten to the vet and they were able to get her all cleaned up. After that, they sent the little kitten to the pound and Cats Cradle picked her up shortly after. She was dehydrated and malnourished so they took her from the pound early to get her in a foster home to recover. The shelter named the kitty, Kelly, after her rescuer. Just last night, Kelly was adopted by a family all the way from Washington State. This couple saw her story on NBC and fell in love with her, so they drove 20 hours just to meet little Kelly and take her home. Ahhhh I love a good happy ending.

I really shouldn't even get started on the topic of cats because I could go on and on and on! Of course everyone knows that I love all animals, so that being said, have you seen this adorable elephant video? It just melts my heart.

Alright so transitioning away from animal stories for the moment, I have to ask, did you watch the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last night?! Uhhh it was so amazing, as it always is! Gigi and Kendall totally killed it during their fist show. I can hardly wait until they get their wings! Taylor Hill and Candice Swanepoel were totally gorge too, as usual. I look forward to the VSFS every year and it never disappoints!

I'm not sure what my deal has been lately but I have been getting so many headaches again (especially first thing in the morning) and I have been incredibly sleepy and exhausted. It's probably a mix of working on homework until late at night, waking up early for workouts and the cooler weather. I have missed two mornings of CrossFit this week because my head has been throbbing so bad for the first couple hours after I wake up. Not just a little nagging headache, like a near migraine but it doesn't last as long. I guess I should count my lucky stars that they don't last that long or I wouldn't be able to get anything done at all. I could have worse problems.

Well, I hope you and Grandma are having a good time in Fargo today! I really wish I would have been able to meet you two for lunch but I have had too much to do trying to wrap up the semester. Next time for sure! Now I'm off to get ready for work. Talk to you soon!

Love you,

Rah
