Day 9 - Cats and other randomness!

Dear Rath Rah,

OOF the last few days have been kind of heavy, hence I am going to lighten things up a tish today.  PLUS I am writing a bit early as I have some plans for the next couple of days so want to get a jump on today's post.  I woke up early today and opted to take a skate around Facebook.  Today I was looking for things that made me smile.  Remember the night that we laid in bed for almost an hour looking at Great Vines and laughing hysterically!  So funny . . . especially the animal ones.

We are definitely CAT people!  There was a story on the Today Show that told of an obese cat named Harry.  They gave Harry up for adoption because he kept breaking into the food cupboard.  Sound like any cat you know?  GREY BOY!  The family that adopted Harry had a little boy named Abel.  He is a total cutie pie and this little guy and his parents fell in love with Harry.  Abel's first word was Yarry as he could not say Larry.  Aren't they flipping ADORABLE!

Then YouTube showed a video of little pug puppies.  Their owner comes in, lays on the floor and there is tons and tons of puppy loving going on for him.  Those little pups were so dang cute and I watched the video several times just because it made me giggle!  Here is the link if you want to go and take a peak:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuB72KcEUTw

Today, I have a ton of things for work that I am attempting to get done.  The truth is, I am struggling to get into my writing brain.  It takes a whole different creative space to write policies and reports than it does to craft a letter to you.  Seriously, sometimes it is totally painful.  I find myself wandering from one thing and then to another.  I know that it will come, but I am not exactly sure when, nor am I convinced I know how.

I found myself researching the texts for this Sunday as I preach.  I typically love to write my sermon, but this week is about being prepared.  One thing that I have learned is that NOTHING prepares you for life.  Today there was a quote from a cop referring to the recent shootings.  He said that they train for situations like this, but NOTHING prepares you for it when it happens.  I think I am going to take a leap of faith and preach off the cuff. Sometimes that is a breath of fresh air!

The UPS man has started delivering gifts.  Maybe he really is Santa!!!  My UPS dude is super nice and pretty easy on the eyes.  I am sure I was a vision in my baggy sweatshirt, hair pulled back, slippers, and leggings.  I didn't care . . . I gladly walked out and accepted his box of packages.  My plan, to do as little shopping in an actual store as is humanly possible!  This time of the year causes me a lot of anxiety as shoppers are hunting for their perfect gift.  So much can be accomplished from a recliner, wrapped in a blanket, with Hallmark movies on, that I find myself thinking, why not do all of my shopping online.

Grams trekked down to see Auntie yesterday.  I had a special treat delivered to Auntie today, so I am waiting for her to say she got them as I know she LOVES them!  Maybe the two of them will enjoy their treats together.  I hope so!  I think the holidays are for focusing on the fun things just because.

I am sending you rainbow roses today, well not really, but for pretend I am.  I am super proud of you and your submission for school.  I know that you worked really hard on your Scholarly Review and yayyyyy you that you do not have to revise it again!  You go girl.  You got this!!!

Well girly, I need to get some more things done.  I love you tons and tons!

Cat videos and stories never get old! Grayboy and I have a picture similar to the one you posted above. Have you seen this one before? It's one of my favorites, haha! He's such a fatty.

I don't have much time to write today. I have to work in an hour and I haven't showered or anything yet. I was up early this morning cleaning the apartment. It was real messy since I've been so busy the last week. Do you remember when I was younger how I always left my shoes out by the front door? I never put them in the closet like you asked. Well, I really wish I would have gotten in that habit. Jesse and I realized today that we're good at keeping the place clean until the moment shoes get left in front of the door. It's all down hill after that. We're really going to work on keeping everything picked up otherwise I can't focus on my homework, or anything else really. I don't even sleep well when it's messy. I know it's weird.

One of our stove burners hasn't been working for a few months because the knob broke off it. Today when I started cleaning, I decided that I was going to fix it. It's always frustrating when I need that burner and can't use it. I thought it was going to be an easy fix but it wasn't. I had to pull the stove out and take the whole entire back off in order to get access to the piece that screwed into the knob. After an hour, I finally had it fixed . . . I'm very proud of myself. Jesse was proud of me too. =)  Last night I had my first city league volleyball game. I was nervous that I was going to completely suck since I haven't played on the court for so long. Luckily, I did pretty well! I felt like my shoulders were stronger than they've ever been. The first ball I spiked I even surprised myself. Ha! Thank you CrossFit!

I am pretty relieved that my second draft of my scholarly lit review was better this time around! That was a stressful paper to write as I have never written one before. Now I have to focus on my Creative Activism class. The end of the semester is the 18th and I work all weekend, but then I have Monday and Tuesday off. I'm hoping to get most of my assignments handed in on those days. Trying NOT to procrastinate until the very last day this time. The quicker I get my stuff handed in, the longer I have for a break until next semester starts. And we all know that I could use a break! After spring semester starts my next break will be when I am DONE at the end of summer semester. The end is in sight!

Well, I suppose I should get my butt ready for work. Gotta bring home the broccoli! - Not bacon in my case. Jesse thinks it's dumb when I say that but he may actually be used to it by now, lol. Hope you and the girls have fun tonight and a good day shopping tomorrow!

Love you!

Sarah
